Noise and Voltage Regulation

PLiXiR Elite BDC balanced DC power supply is designed to reduce all the noise types in a DC power supply. Upon deep studies, it is apparent that traditional DC power supply circuits cannot eliminate types of noise such as Ground loop current and diode rectification/pollution noise.

A proprietary ground-up approach begins with a balanced AC power design, along with a two-stage voltage regulation consisting of an open-loop first-stage pre-regulator and a close-loop feedback second stage. The first stage pre-regulation filters the bulk of the noise, specifically the high-frequency noise, and the heat from the second stage voltage regulator. The 2 stage regulation is designed as a “gate” to prevent the downstream noise from crossing back to the AC power.

Custom Transformer by Noratel

The basis of the Elite series products is a single-winding power transformer, custom-made according to the PLiXiR specification by the reputable English company Noratel. These transformers have a unique core and are true balanced, bifilar wound using the patented XQ (eXtra Quiet) technology. This provides better noise isolation, power conditioning, and optimal system grounding for your system in a single package.

Handcrafted

All PLiXiR products are handcrafted in Singapore. The ability to control all aspects of the PCB and product assembly allows PLiXiR to fully optimise the performance and sound for all their products. Electrical connections are done to the furthest extent using point-to-point direct soldering. Another important point is the use of selected premium components including ultra-low-impedance capacitors, high-current connectors, and high-purity copper cables.

Each product is uniquely made. No cookie cutter process, which focuses on production quantity but sacrifice performance, is allowed here. PLiXiR exists to make good products, not more products. The final tuning is done by James Soh, the founder, for the PLiXiR sound.
